Hello

I'm Anna. I was born in Aotearoa/New Zealand, into a large rural farming family in the North Island. I am a curious and compassionate human.

In my current phase of life, I am focusing on the art of 'being', whilst unlearning prescribed and perpetual 'doing'.

I always look forward to meeting new clients and helping them on their unique path.

Hope to speak with you soon!

My background

I began my formal university education at the University of Auckland back in 2005. I later graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, double major in Education and Anthropology. Human relationships, have always been an area of great passion for me.

My next call to adventure was motherhood.

In 2020 I returned to university, this time at Auckland University of Technology. I studied a Graduate Diploma in Psychotherapy and during this time, I discovered my love for depth psychology.

I came to understand that there was much to know 'between the lines' of my own, and others stories.

During the Masters degree, I was an intern at a Hospice, which was an incredibly humbling experience. This placement quite naturally lead to my fascination in existential psychotherapy.

In 2023 I began to work in the Integrated Primary Health and Addictions sector of a local GP clinic. Seeing 6-8 patients per day really brought to life a fuller understanding of just how interwoven phsyical and mental health were. It was here that I explored 'whole person healthcare' as an approach, and still carry this understanding of wellbeing into my work today.

During the formal academic journey, I finished with a Masters in Health Science (psychotherapy), completed my dissertation on Hope in Psychotherapy and co-authored a chapter in a research methodology book. All were a labour of love!

I have since continued with more learning through the SouthPacific Psychosynthesis Trust, and have discovered Transpersonal Psychology, which weaves in all of my discoveries thus far in the professional journey. I suspect that I will be forever discovering all the wisdoms of the world, new research on trauma, and finding out what fits best for my understanding what 'heals' our past hurts and current limitations.

I have seen my academic and professional pathway move between formal and intrinsic learning, where both ways feed into each other creating a sense of groundedness in myself as a therapist.
